On 28 October 2025, representatives from agricultural social security institutions, policy bodies, research organisations, and the green sector gathered in Berlin (Germany) for the ENASP Conference.

The event, held under the theme “Agriculture and Social Protection in the Age of Technological Transformation, Digitalisation and AI”, explored how emerging technologies are reshaping farm work and the social protection frameworks that support it.

Key topics at the conference included the impact of new technologies on occupational safety and health in agriculture and forestry, the role of robotics, AI, and augmented reality in transforming agricultural practices, and how digitalisation can improve working conditions for farmers and farm workers.

AGRO-WELL was represented by our partner Dr Martina Jakob, from the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy (ATB). During her presentation, Dr Jakob showcased how our project is testing robotics, AI and AR applications to enhance farm work.

The talk emphasised how these technologies can reduce workload, improve occupational safety, and promote the well-being of agricultural workers, demonstrating our project’s commitment to making farming both smarter and safer.

The conference featured a lively panel discussion, where experts from agriculture, policy, and research addressed topics such as innovative approaches to prevention and safety, ethical considerations, psychosocial risks and the development of digital skills.

Participants also shared practical examples of how digital technologies are already strengthening prevention measures, service delivery, and administrative processes within social protection systems.

The conference underlined the importance of integrating digital solutions into prevention and administrative processes, ensuring that technological transformation in agriculture benefits workers, enhances occupational safety, and supports inclusive innovation across Europe.

The presentation shared by Dr Jakob at ENASP 2025 is attached below, providing further insights into AGRO-WELL’s ongoing work and research outcomes:
